Home game for EFAFLEX: At BAU 2019 in Bavaria, we presented the unique features of our product portfolio to the specialist audience on our newly designed exhibition stand. Visitors showed particular interest in our four by eight meter LED wall, on which we illustrated our innovative City-BIM solution, with the team focusing on networking, and discussing digitization and Industry 4.0.

Networking, digitization and Industry 4.0 in focus

A tap of the finger is all it takes to reveal the entire product world of EFAFLEX GmbH to the viewer: door systems in a wide variety of designs, sizes and colours, as well as the current product innovations appear on the touchscreens in a matter of seconds. The brand new stand was used for the first time at BAU, January 2019 where it was very well received. After all, we were on trend with the digital representation of our offer and the presentation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions: topics such as networking, digitization and Industry 4.0 were the focus of the world's leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, which takes place every two years.

For this year, 2,250 exhibitors from 45 countries presented current industry trends and developments at the trade fair. Around 250,000 visitors met in Munich to gather information and exchange ideas. Many of them found their way to our stand, received personal advice from our team of experts and had the opportunity to examine and test five high-speed doors that were on display.

Innovative security devices for door systems

Based on the products on display, we were also able to show how security device systems can be integrated into our door solutions. For example, it is possible to install laser scanners or door light grids, which ensure that the closing movement of a door is started or stopped as soon as people and vehicles approach. Solutions for companies that rely on Industry 4.0 and digital tools for architects and planners were also presented.

The highlight of the new booth was the four by eight meter LED wall, on which City-BIM, a Building Information Modeling solution for use in urban planning projects, was graphically displayed.

Generate leads and collect information

“As one of the largest industry trade fairs, BAU offers us the opportunity to address an international specialist audience and to exchange ideas with colleagues from other countries,” says our shareholder Christopher Seysen. On the one hand, the lead generation at the trade fair is second to none, and on the other, it allows the EFAFLEX team the opportunity to find out about other innovative solutions and new developments in the industry. It was particularly interesting to see how different exhibitors approach the Industry 4.0 trend: "Everyone has a different understanding and perspective."

The importance of the fair was further illustrated by the presence of high-ranking politicians, with Bavaria's Minister of Economics, Hubert Aiwanger in attendance.

“Our conclusion on BAU 2019 is very positive. We received good feedback and were able to take some inspiration home with us,” summarizes Seysen. Participation in the next edition in 2021 is therefore already certain. "In addition, BAU in Munich is a real home game for us as a company based in Bavaria."
